Gatlinburg Mountain Experiences

One of the most popular cities to visit in the state of Tennessee is Gatlinburg. There are so many Gatlinburg mountain experiences to enjoy. After all, this is the home of the Great Smoky Mountains, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Designated as a World Heritage Site, this national park has hundreds of plant species, tree species, wildlife species and more. You get beautiful mountain views, rivers, waterfalls and so much more. Whether you want to do something tame like go birdwatching or something exciting like white water rafting the mountains can accommodate you.

There are lots of other things to do in Gatlinburg also. Consider fishing, boating, camping, hiking, riding horses, fishing and golfing. In addition to traditional golf courses there are all kinds of fun miniature golf courses such as Circus Golf in 3D. This mini golf course features black light effects, computer animation and more for an out of this world entertainment experience. Another popular miniature golf course is Old Gatlinburg Golf and Games. There are two fun outdoor courses and an indoor black light course.

To view the area from a bird's eye view, there are attractions like the Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway. It holds 120 passengers and goes from the city to the Ober Amusement Park and Ski Resort, a popular destination all year round. Then there is the Gatlinburg Sky Lift, which takes you up Crockett Mountain. You get to see the natural wonders of the mountain area from high above. If touring via air isn't your cup of tea, you can take bus tours and walking tours of various landmarks and areas. There is even a walking ghost tour where you can attempt to capture evidence of paranormal activity. Even if you don't catch a ghost you are sure to have a chilling good time.

No Gatlinburg mountain vacation would be complete without a trip to the Ripley Aquarium of the Smokies. This massive aquarium is home to every type of oceanic life imaginable, from colorful tropical fish to ferocious sharks and much more. Ripley's also has several other museums in the area, such as a Haunted Museum and the classic Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum beside which is located Ripley's Super Funzone. And don't forget, while in Gatlinburg there are fantastic places to dine and shop when you're not exploring the natural world or the fun city attractions.
